Ok, ok I know I said last year that I was going to be better about updating this blog. Well as you can tell I haven’t. So starting next month I’m going to at least try to get something posted at least once a week. I’m not sure what I’m going to post about, but I’m sure I can come up with something.

Ok, so I know I said I would have an update back in June last year, well if you couldn’t tell, it never happened. I’m trying to get back into the swing of things. So what have I been doing for the last 8 months. Not a whole lot! Lately (the last 3-4 months) I’ve been researching and working on getting our lives in better shape. Not healthy shape (of course we need to do that too), but financial, and preparedness shape. I’m not a person whose idea’s are skewed into “good TV” such as a recent show about “preppers”. Instead I look at it what harm can come from being prepared for an emergency. Most of us have insurance on our vehicles, our houses, our lives, but what happens when insurance is gone? We, let me repeat, WE are our best insurance. We all should have the ability to build a fire, build a shelter, grow our own food, protect our family, and other things that we all take for granted. These are basic things that in the event of an emergency we may need to do. Can you?
There is a podcast that I have been listening to for the last few months (not regularly, sorry Jack), and in it all sorts of topics are touched upon, from basic survival, to gardening, to financial theory. As of today (2-21-12) there are 844 episodes of about 1 hour each. I haven’t listened to them all yet, heck I haven’t even scratched the surface. If you’ve got the time, and even if you don’t, I suggest you give them a listen.

Well it’s official. Today marks our 14th year as a married couple. Crazy. I’m glad we’re both happy (at least I’m pretty sure she’s happy), and life has been pretty good to us. Going to go out to eat tonight. We said that we weren’t going to get each other anything, we’ll see if that works. We are trying to save for our future move.
For those that care, I do plan on having part 2 of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, up in a few more days.

Ok, I’ve added a bit more content to my blog (under Personal Finance). It’s not much but, at least it’s something else to read. I’m still working on part 2 of my liberty article (technically I haven’t started it yet), hopefully I have that up in the next couple of days. The wife has got me helping her clean the house, doesn’t she know I’ve got important blog things to do? Oh crap here she comes.

Ok, so it’s day two. I’m still working on a couple more articles, and my wife says I shouldn’t do them at work. She’s probably right. I might be able to spit something out during my lunch break though. Have any of you ever really thought about the fate of this Country? There for a while I was truly concerned. And now not so much. Not because I think it’s getting better, but because I’ve become more complacent. Just like the rest of the Country. This is a bad thing. We cannot forget what this Country was founded on. “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness”. Uh-oh, I feel an article coming on. Later
